Lykke & New Polar Sound present Sursum Corda II

Sursum Corda returns for its second chapter as part of the recurring Night of the Arts series, opening a temporary space for reflection, shared listening, and encounters with experimental artistic practice. Through a blend of exhibition and live performance, the event explores ideas of transcendence, elevation, and attentive presence, bringing together artists whose approaches diverge yet resonate in conversation with one another.

Siiri Lumpeenkukka Varis is a multi-instrumentalist fluttering through dreamy sceneries. Drawing on nature’s sweet chaos and dynamic coexistence, her practice searches for shared spaces of liveness and engagement through touches of sound.

Laura MRLS is a DJ, producer, and live performer based in Helsinki, crafting hypnotic, emotionally dense sonic journeys that blur the boundaries between deep techno, melancholic ambient, and experimental sound. Her sets are known for eerie atmospheres, industrial-tinged textures, and a subtle psychedelic undercurrent, building tension and release across longform narrative arcs.

Abaris Moerae is the creative identity of Nicholas Pucciarelli, a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and avant-garde musician. As co-founder and curator of New Polar Sound, he has cultivated a platform for experimental and evocative sound practices. His work extends through projects such as Mortar Devotions, Vitriol Crops, and most notably Nona et Decima, each exploring a different dimension of his artistic language. Under the name Abaris Moerae, he channels the transformation of being into sound, a process of transmutation where the self dissolves into resonance.

The event takes place at Lykke Helsinki (Pohjoinen Rautatiekatu 21A, 00100 Helsinki) on August 20th, 2026, from 5pm to 7pm, as part of Helsinki’s annual Night of the Arts. Free Entrance

Lykke Kahvitilat is a Helsinki-based coffee company built on a simple but radical question: how do you run a coffee business without harming anyone in the process? Lykke’s answer is to own its coffee farms together with the farmers themselves, cutting out middlemen and growing coffee organically, in harmony with people and planet, across origins from Central America to East Africa. The result is a coffeehouse dedicated to serving genuinely good, ethically sourced coffee, and the setting for Sursum Corda II.
